Katie Lundy, 19, is a student of SIUe who has helps many child hospitals by raise funds for them since October 2000 for reasons that she con related to on many levels.

Katie Lundy haves hosted seven golf tournament in the past to help raise funds for child hospitals. She started hosting this golf tournaments when she was 11 years-old and she been continuing to host them since she was 18 years-old. So far the tournaments have risen up to $100,000 for children’s hospitals. At the last golf tournament she hosted it raised around $23,000. She was able to do a golf tournament this past year but she “Hopefully have a golf tournament in August,” said Lundy.

So what reasons does Katie Lundy have for hosting these golf tournaments? Well she herself was having been in and out for the hospital because she was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was 11 years old. She has had to go through seven round of chemotherapy and one round of radiation treatment that lasted for 30 days. She says she has different side effects ever time she goes in. Even though her tumor is stable now, it is still growing. “Hopefully I won’t die” said Lundy “but I may lose my sight.”

Even through all her own hardship she seems to be in high spirits. When Lundy was asked if anything has changed since she been going to the hospital over the year she responded saying that she “witness the change.”

  1. You have way too many spelling and grammatical errors in this story. Seven in your lead alone. You must turn in clean copy. See me about this. Remember to use noun then verb when quoting someone ("Lundy said" instead of "said Lundy").
